Spinnerbaits are a popular with bass anglers, but weeds can be a problem when fishing heavy cover. Cut the last ¾-inch off the pointed end of a ball-point pen cap, then poke a small hole through the tip. Using needlenose pliers, open the end of the spinner arm and remove the swivel and spinner blade. Slide the piece of the pen cap onto the spinner arm so that it will cover the swivel when you reattach the blade. This will keep the spinnerbait’s blade from fouling with weeds.
