LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska has some of the best state park areas in the nation, according to ReserveAmerica’s annual list of the country’s Top 100 Family Campgrounds.
Eugene T. Mahoney, Fort Robinson and Ponca state parks (SP) are ranked third, seventh and 25th, respectively, in the top 100 campgrounds.
ReserveAmerica, the nation’s leading recreation reservation service, recently announced its top 100 as a guide to help park-goers plan their trips. ReserveAmerica’s system handles Nebraska park reservations through OutdoorNebraska.org.
Nebraska parks ranked tops in the nation in many other listings by ReserveAmerica. Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area (SRA) is the No. 1 Fishing Spot. Mahoney SP is ranked No. 1 in the following categories: Kid-Friendly Park, Tours and Events and Romantic Spots. Fort Robinson SP is No. 1 in the Scenic Views category.
