Waterfest Is Saturday at Holmes Lake Park LINCOLN, Neb. – Waterfest 2010, scheduled for Saturday, June 12 at Holmes Lake Park in Lincoln, will give participants a chance to learn all things about water. The event is from 5-8 p.m.
Included in the multi-agency event are a variety of hands-on activities, including canoe rides and a fishing clinic. Each Waterfest participant will receive a water passport, which will be marked at a stop at each exhibitor station. Participants will be eligible for a free gift by visiting at least 10 stations.
More Family Fishing Nights Coming Up LINCOLN, Neb. – Family Fishing Night events are coming soon to locations around the state. Events are June 15 at Mormon Island State Recreation Area Middle Lake near Grand Island, June 16 at Interstate 80 Lake in North Platte and Bowling Lake in Lincoln, and June 17 at Yanney Park Lake in Kearney.
Nebraska’s Youth Fishing Program sponsors Family Fishing Nights. This is an opportunity for people of all ages who have never fished or haven’t fished in years to learn and enjoy the activity.
Rods and reels, as well as bait and fishing instruction, will be available. Appropriate fishing and park permits are required. All events are from 6-8:30 p.m.
Lincoln Public Archery Range Closed June 21-27 LINCOLN, Neb. – The Lincoln Public Archery Range, located in Boosalis Park, will be closed June 21-27 for use by the Cornhusker State Games.
The range, which is managed and maintained by the Prairie Bowmen Archery Club, generally is open to the public during daylight hours.

Bow Hunter Education Class in Lincoln LINCOLN, Neb. – A bow hunter education class is scheduled for July 6-7 in Lincoln from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Hunter Education Office, 4817 N. 56th St., Ste. 1.

The workshop, from 6-8 p.m., is for adults who want to volunteer for the Youth Fishing Program. Participants will learn how to conduct fishing programs, derbies and club activities for children and families. Instructors will have the use of free fishing tackle and educational resources at clinics.
