Catfish excellent on jug lines and rod and reels using cut shad and garlic hot dog chunks. Crappie good on minnows and small jigs fishing deep structure and docks. Kaw: June 14. Elevation 8 ft. above normal and rising, water 85 and muddy. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 15-25 ft. under Washunga Bay Bridge and Sarge Creek Bridge over brush. White bass good on crankbaits and shad colored jigs around Sarge Creek Bridge and Washunga Bay Bridge and trolling sandy flats. Blue catfish being caught on cut shad suspended in 15-30 ft of water. Anglers should try Coon Creek and Washunga areas. Channel catfish fair along the rocks on worms, shrimp and cut bait. Flathead catfish fair to good on trotlines with goldfish or bluegill. Noodling has picked up with fishermen finding a lot of blue catfish in the holes and a few flatheads. White bass, striped bass and striped bass hybrids being caught on bucktails, sassy shad and drifting live bait below the dam during water release. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut shad, carp, live bluegill, shad and goldfish below the dam. Recent heavy rains will dramatically alter fishing success; anglers should focus on flooded willow trees in the Arkansas River arm for blue and channel catfish and below the dam for all species. Catfish fair on juglines and trotlines with fresh cut bait, shad and night crawlers. Crappie good on minnows and jigs around submerged brush structure. Sardis: June 13. Elevation normal, water 83 and clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, plastic baits, worms and frogs. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait and stinkbait at 10-12 ft. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 10-12 ft. Report submitted by Dane Polk, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.
Texoma: June 14. Elevation one half foot below normal, water 82 and mostly clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on plastic baits, shad colored crankbaits and spinnerbaits at 5-10 ft. in the creek channels. Striped and white bass good on live bait, slabs and sassy shad and some topwater lures at 5-30 ft. in the river channel. Channel and blue catfish good on live bait, worms and cut baits at 5-20 ft. from Platter Flat to Caney Creek. Crappie-fair on minnows and jigs at 5-15 ft. deep in Widow Moore and Little Glasses creeks and around the fishing docks. Sunfish good on worms and shrimp at 5-10 ft. around the fish attractors and fishing docks. Paddlefish fair below the dam. Report submitted by Danny Clubb, game warden stationed in Bryan County.
SOUTHWEST
Altus-Lugert: June 13. Elevation 5 3/4 ft. below normal and rising slowly. Crappie good. White bass fair to good. Walleye fair. Catfish fair to good. Report submitted by Sue Hokanson, Quartz Mountain State Park.
Foss: June 15. Elevation normal with gates closed, water 70s and clear. Striped bass hybrids fair to good on live bait in deep water. Walleye fair. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B & K Bait House.
Tom Steed: June 14. Elevation normal, water 78 and muddy. Catfish good on juglines with live bait. Report submitted by David Smith, game warden stationed in Kiowa County.
Waurika: June 15. Elevation normal with gates closed, water 80-84 and murky. White bass good on minnows in the rocks at Wichita Ridge at sundown, on jigs and crankbaits trolling the lake and on jigs and liver when breaking the surface. Blue catfish good on cut shad and stinkbait around windy points and shorelines, on juglines in the lake and along the rocks at Wichita Ridge at sundown. Crappie slow to fair on minnows and jigs in deep water around tree stumps. Report submitted by Vince Mesis, game warden stationed in Cotton County.
